I am interested in clients who can take a long view and are prepared to recognize that any successful investment program resembles a marathon rather than a sprint. I haven’t found any shortcuts to investment success and I am not even looking. A sufficiently long investment horizon allows me to ignore speculative market movements and instead bet on long-term developments that are much easier to anticipate. I am generally ignorant as to what will happen in the near future but confident to place a number of well-calculated long-term bets. Don’t ever ask me what the market will do next week, next month or next year. I don’t know!
Please keep in mind that my investment approach only makes good sense if I can work with a minimum of 5 million CHF (or an equivalent amount in a different currency). I need to access a sufficient number of managers above their own minimum and concentrate my efforts around a limited number of client relationships. I want to stay focused on finding excellent investments and do not want the firm to degenerate into a marketing organization.
You can chose your custodian bank but I might have some useful suggestions. I don’t give investment advice and will work exclusively on the basis of a discretionary management contract. That contract gives me the right to buy and sell through an account in your name but I will not be able to withdraw or wire money except for the purchase of securities and investment funds.
If you are faced with the challenge of finding a good home for your money, please feel free to contact me. You can either call me, write a letter or send an email. I don’t like to send out material to people I haven’t met, so please come and see me first. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
